Welcome

We are an organization founded on the principle of women helping women.

Our mission is for Uptown BPW to complement and enhance each of our members professional lives by providing thoughtful networking opportunities, volunteering in community-minded projects and recognition of accomplishments. Through our Community Projects programs, we support local area non-profit organizations and as part of our endeavor to equip women for success, we also provide scholarships for non-traditional women returning to school.

Our planning meeting over the summer was great, kicking off an exciting new year. We have a phenomenal slate of officers and a dedicated team of committee members. Our theme this year is Steadfastness & Strength. One word for a strong woman is Steadfast – She stays firm and strong in the face of adversity.

We have some exciting plans for this coming year. While we will not be holding our traditional NBWW Dinner, we will celebrate National Business Women’s Week on October 18, during lunch, at the Petroleum Club. We are planning a panel discussion with prior Women of Achievement, and we will be naming our Current BPW Woman of the Year. Please send your nominations to Evie Gandy as soon as possible. The candidate will be an active member who has represented our organization in a positive way and has gone the extra mile in both her career and in her community.

Meanwhile, we are planning a new FUNdraiser this Fall, which we will hold on November 11 th . Please be on the lookout for more details relating to “Roll for the GOAL.” This will be different from our Spring fundraiser – this isn’t Bunco - but promises to be just as much fun!!!

Our group is now over 100 members strong! The theme of steadfastness embodies our membership. We are women helping women, encouraging women and supporting women. Thank you for trusting me to lead you and thank you, most of all, for supporting me.
